Title: Sr. Software Engineer
Location: Remote, US
Duration: 1 Year Contract
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Within the Performance, Tools & Analytics Software Engineering team our goal is to develop performance, reporting, and analytic tools used throughout Nike Global Technology. Your role is to design and build high quality applications and shared components that scale and grow with business needs. You will also provide technical solutions to complex problems with a focus on performance and observability.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
- Identifying and solving a range of problems in straightforward situations; analyzing possible solutions and assessing each using standard procedures
- Responding to requests from internal and/or external customers; investigating with assistance from others as needed
- Understanding the key business drivers; using this knowledge in your own work
- Acting as a subject matter expert to system owners on industry standards and best practices for software engineering
- Engineering systems and tools that provide actionable performance insights to engineers and leadership
- Handling of Big Data and Data Science Tools in AWS to extract meaningful insights
- Working with analytics tools, such as: New Relic, Splunk, Adobe Analytics
- Data visualization tools, such as: D3 with NodeJS, Grafana, Kibana
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
- Work within an Agile system with other software engineers
- Be part of the larger Observability and Resilience organization within Global Technology
WHAT YOU BRING
- 3 - 5 years’ experience in building cloud-based enterprise systems, ideally on AWS
- Experience working within a collaborative Agile/Scrum environment (Jira preferred)
- Proficient with JavaScript on frontend (React, TypeScript, etc.) and backend (Node.js) components
- Experience with test driven automation, Continuous Integration, and Continuous deployment (Jenkins preferred)
- Experience with Docker and/or serverless patterns
- Experience with AWS Lambda development a plus
- Experience with AWS: S3, Kinesis, CloudWatch development a plus
- Expertise in designing and building scalable applications
- Expertise in NoSQL datastore systems to build highly scalable solutions (ElasticSearch preferred)
- Experience with expertise in other modern enterprise languages (Python, Java, etc.)
- Experience with GitHub or other version control systems
